Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) has a unique model for dealing with and interacting with the community of gamers in and out of the game Star Citizen. The community at large comes all over the world and CIG does its best to help the community whenever it cans. By offering streamers and content creators game packages and or ships to giveaway or helping a player with issues they are having with the game.

There are those members of the community that create or even influence to game itself and CIG recognizes individuals or groups that have been spread the game. Two instances in recent history that CIG has put people of a group into the game lore themselves because of the impact they have had on the Star Citizen Community. Seanriker and Atmos Esports Daymar Rally.

CIG named Riker Memorial Spaceport after “Seanriker”, a member of the German Fan Community. He passed away in 2018. He was such a big part of the community that CIG dedicated a spaceport to his name.

Atmos Esports ran a race for years on the Moon of Daymar in the Stanton System called the Daymar Rally. The race has been made official and placed into the lore of Star Citizen.

CIG from the beginning has been funded by the fans through crowdfunding and still, the fans are completely funding the company to this day. CIG has dedicated itself to the Star Citizen Community and has created a team dedicated to the outreach called The Community Outreach team. Jake Bradely, AKA Jake Acappella, who has been one of the Community Managers for almost two years speaks about his role at CIG.

Jake Bradly says, “Really, the primary responsibility of a community manager is to be the bridge between the community and the development team. We listen to everybody's feedback everywhere. No matter where it comes from, it's not just Spectrum. We were on Reddit where on Twitch chat discord people will probably see me and they're just in there, Discord, I'm in over 100 at this point, and YouTube comments. With many more social media accounts. We look for feedback everywhere we can find it. And we, we take all that feedback. We bring it to the development team or even like flare concerns that the community has as well to the development team. And from there we, we try to get answers as much as we possibly can. And whether that answer comes, that answer can come in many different forms.”

Jake also mentioned that a new Community Hub is coming soon to the Star Citizen website.

Jake Bradly added, “Obviously, we've got like bigger projects coming on that we've talked about a little bit. This isn't like something I haven't seen a lot of chatter about, but we've mentioned it a couple of times in monthly reports were completely overhauling the community hub. So, we want to. The community hub is going to get a full overhaul. So, there are going to be a lot more, a lot easier ways to share the things that you love about sources and or follow the people that you like in Star Citizen. Um, it's really, really exciting. I can't wait for people to see all of that stuff.”

The main concern for CIG is to create an environment where the Star Citizen Community is as much a part of the company as the employees of CIG are. CIG only exists due to the love and continuation of the financial backing of the Star Citizen Community. CIG wants to make the Star Citizen Community dream of the Star Citizen to be realized.

In the video below you can see the interview segment with Jake Bradly on the community.
