When people take the plunge into the world streaming, it can go well and go very wrong. People have tried to make and failed, where others have thrived. I have recently had an opportunity to talk to a successful streamer called SubliminalTV. We talked about the in’s and out of streaming.
When SubliminalTV took the plunge into streaming, he had a graphic designer job with a significant company. He started graphic designing when he was fourteen years old. He loved it a lot, but it wasn’t his passion.
SubliminalTV said, “One day, I decided that I wanted to do streaming. I didn’t think it would be possible to support my family on it, but it was my passion. Changing my income to streaming and video making only didn’t seem possible.”
GeekCitizen asked, “What was a big turning point in your life that led you to this?”
SubliminalTV replies, “Well, I would have to say, my mom. I knew some games had online mode as a kid, but I had no access. That was till my mom bought me a network adapter for my PlayStation 2. I got to play online with others for the first time. She encouraged my passion for games.”
Family can be essential to follow your passion. It can either support you, can destroy your dream.
SubliminalTV said throughout the interview, “Having a family that supports your decision to follow your passion is very important. At first, my wife was skeptical of my decision to change my career but was willing to let me follow it to see where it led. It’s not the best thing I could do for money, but it is my passion.”
It helps to have if you also had support from viewers.
